Turkey's average residential electricity price: ₺3.50/kWh. Mediterranean yield: 1,550 kWh/kWp/year.
Turkey's solar sector is one of the world's fastest-growing. High irradiance, rising electricity prices and strong government incentives make it an exceptional investment destination.
Licensed solar plants up to 10 MW receive a guaranteed USD-denominated feed-in tariff for 10 years under YEKDEM. Provides revenue certainty and bankability for project financing.
Systems up to 1 MW can operate under Turkey's simplified "unlicensed" scheme — no EPDK licence required. Surplus electricity offsets your bill via net metering. 2026 rules allow carry-forward of credits.
Foreign nationals and companies can own solar plants in Turkey. Requirements: Turkish company registration, land/roof rights, EPDK application. We guide international investors through the entire process in English.

Turkey offers multiple investment pathways: residential net-metering systems, commercial rooftop arrays, ground-mount plants under the unlicensed scheme (up to 1 MW), and fully licensed utility-scale plants under YEKDEM. We provide a full feasibility study for your investment size and help you choose the optimal structure.
YEKDEM (Yenilenebilir Enerji Kaynakları Destekleme Mekanizması) is Turkey's Renewable Energy Support Mechanism. Licensed solar plants receive a guaranteed USD-denominated feed-in tariff of $0.133/kWh for 10 years, regardless of market electricity price fluctuations. This provides revenue certainty that enables project financing from Turkish and international banks.
Yes. Foreign individuals and legal entities can fully own solar plants in Turkey. A Turkish company (typically an LLC/LTD ŞTİ) is required for licensed plants — we can assist with or recommend company formation services. Foreign ownership of Turkish real estate (including solar farm land) is permitted with some restrictions on total area.
Turkey ranks among Europe's highest solar irradiance countries. The Mediterranean and Southeastern regions average 1,500–1,700 kWh/m²/year — comparable to southern Spain and Morocco. Central Anatolia averages 1,400–1,500 kWh/m²/year. This makes Turkey an outstanding solar investment destination with class-leading yield figures.
An EPDK preliminary licence application typically takes 3–6 months and requires a grid connection offer from TEDAŞ. Once the preliminary licence is granted, the investor has 24 months to complete the plant and achieve commissioning for the full generation licence. We manage all EPDK correspondence as part of our EPC service.
Under Turkey's 2026 net metering rules, residential and commercial owners with systems up to 1 MW can offset their electricity bill with surplus solar generation. Unused credits carry forward month-to-month. This is the most popular scheme for residential and commercial solar, requiring only a TEDAŞ connection application — no EPDK licence needed.
